9 Practical Tips on How To Wake Up Energized ⏰

How To Wake Up Energized

Going to sleep and still waking up tired can get pretty annoying. We all have been in this situation plenty of times. As soon as our alarm goes off, we hit the snooze button to get those extra few minutes of sleep.

It is hard to leave that cozy, comfortable bed in the morning and we often find ourselves struggling to get out of bed to the point where we are basically dragging ourselves out of the bed. It’s a privilege to wake up energized and being all ready for the day ahead. On the contrary, if you don’t wake up energized, you’ll find yourself lazy and lagging in your daily life.

But, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. We have gathered some very helpful tricks and tips in helping you wake up energized.

If you’re a natural morning person, it will be easier for you to wake up energized as you have always been like that. Unlike a morning person, if you’re a night person i.e. you’re most productive at night time and it takes a longer time for you to fall asleep, things can get tricky for you. It’s commonly observed in night people that they usually lack energy when they wake up. Their sleep cycle is so out of whack that it seems almost impossible to be energetic and happy in the morning. Sleep is very important and we cannot underestimate its importance.

Sleeplessness causes a lot of problems one of which is hair loss. If we look around, we can see that people losing their hair are the same people with a bad sleep cycle. So if you want to keep those locks healthy, better work on your sleep cycle.

All bodies are different and could react to the same thing, differently. The thing that might be working for everyone else might not necessarily work for you. Now, there are a lot of ways through which you can wake up energized but you have to test and try what works best for you.

9 Things To Do To Wake Up Feeling Energized

#1 Pamper yourself

It might sound pretty basic but if you pamper yourself before going to bed, you’re going to wake up in a much better mood and will definitely feel much more energized. The correlation between pampering yourself and feeling energetic is that you’re putting in an effort. You’re taking care of yourself. I’m a firm believer that if you take care of yourself, you will be able to take care of those around you, be it a partner or a family member, taking care of your own self should be your first priority. Now, there are various ways through which one can pamper oneself. A lot of people go for a nighttime routine. You can incorporate anything of your liking in this routine. It’s excellent to incorporate a nighttime skincare routine as it makes your skin feel nice and cared for (don’t forget that skin is the largest organ), so the more you’ll work on it, the more you will feel relaxed.

#2 Declutter your space

We have always been told to make our bed before going to bed. But, why is it so important. If you’re constantly falling asleep in a messy environment, you’d most likely not be able to get quality sleep and there are very high chances of you not waking up energized. It can get pretty demotivating to wake up to a messy room/bed and can also ruin your mood. Make sure to tidy up your room before going to bed. Doing that won’t only make you feel more productive, but, it also helps in maintaining a peaceful sleeping environment.

#3 Try meditating or ASMR

Meditating before going to bed can be pretty helpful in waking up energized. Meditating helps if you’re someone who can’t seem to fall asleep or if you’re a serial insomniac. It calms and soothes you.  Meditation or yoga before sleep has proven to be extremely beneficial for people who don’t wake up energized. ASMR is also a great option as it also helps in calming you down and helping you fall asleep. These methods work because one of the main reasons why you don’t wake up energized is you not getting proper sleep. Through these methods, you fall asleep faster and get those quality hours of sleep resulting in you waking up much more energized and refreshed.

#4 Set aside enough bedtime

Waking up energized has a lot to do with how much sleep you’re getting. If you are getting 3 or 4 hours of sleep, it is likely that you will be grumpy and lazy all day. On the other hand, if you get good 7-8 hours of sleep, you’ll observe that you’ll be in a much better mood and much more energized. In order to do so, you have to make time for sleep. You have to set aside those 7-8 hours of sleep. If you are someone who is really busy and has a lot of things to do on a daily basis, you still have to sleep for 7-8 hours otherwise you will perform poorly in your daily tasks.

#5 Try Sleeping Without a Pillow

A comfortable environment like darkroom, comfy comforters, cool temperature and silence will make it very easy for you to fall asleep and wake up energized.

#6 Drink water

Now, this may sound very generic but it is important. Research shows that drinking water before bed reduces the risk of heart diseases but don’t drink it too close before your bedtime as it may lead to a full bladder, disrupting your sleep. Drinking water when you wake up is also an excellent habit to wake up energized. As you sit up and drink water, it wakes you up, hydrates you and energizes you.

#7 Wake up energized with little sleep

If you’re someone who can’t ever seem to get quality sleep and always be able 3-4 hours of sleep each night, there are a couple of things you could do to improve your situation. You could always go for the good old caffeine. It might help for a short while. Incorporating a morning workout will not only help you stay fit but it’s also a great way to stay energized throughout the day. Squeezing in a morning shower can also be really calming and energizing.

#8 Soak that sunlight 🌞

Get rid of those blinds and soak yourself in the sunlight. Sunlight has a lot of benefits for you and this will help you wake up energized. The trick is to go to bed on time and don’t sleep too late.

#9 No gadgets an hour before bedtime

Social media can be very powerful and can have a negative impact on your mental health, making it harder for you to fall asleep. If you see people, portraying their best on Instagram, before going to bed,  comparing yourself with them is most likely going to happen which might just make you sad. Instead, do not use your phone or any other device before going to bed. Ignorance is bliss at times. You don’t need to keep up with everyone right before going to bed.

We hope that these tricks and tips help you in waking up energized. Incorporating these in yours. Life will definitely have a positive impact on your health. Remember, the key is to not overthink it and you’ll be good to go.
